Durring December any grant applications may take longer and in some cases not be processed until January. This is because all staff who work for WIN are volunteers. If your request appears to be a serious crisis we will do our best to help. Please note from the 20th of December until the 2nd of January Staff will be away.
For details on whether you are eligible for a grant, please read the information linked here:
We usually offer grants of up to £500. However, in exceptional circumstances higher requests will be considered. We request that it is specified what the grant will be used for as well as the specific amount. Grants can be used for both previously incurred expenses such as funeral costs and forthcoming expenses - for instance a family holiday. Any people assessed to be eligible for a grant will be helped on a first come first served basis. You can only be awarded one grant per financial year. Please note widowed in need aims to helped those widowed and in financial difficulty. Your income therefor must be below £170 a week.
In the form below we request some evidence of being widowed. We understand everyones circumstances are different and you may not have a death certificate. If you don't have that to hand, a bill or something showing joint names will be enough. We appologise for having to ask for this. But being a charity that awards grants to people, we need to safe gaurd our funds so they reach the people we aim to help. We hope you can forgive us and understand our reason for having to request such evidence.
You can scan or take a photo with your phone. Then attach it to the form below. This will help us to manange your request quicker.
